Today was the Jewish quarter field trip. We started by doing the Wohl Museum which was an archaeological museum of houses of Herodian and New Testament era wealthy and priestly families. It was a cool museum. We then went to the Davidson Archaeological park. This was sweet, it was right around the southern part of the temple mount. We had a devotional about the temptations of Jesus, because we were near what was considered the pinnacle of the Temple. This was the south west corner of the temple mount. We had a devotional while we sat on the steps that lead up to the temple. They were steps that Jesus himself would have walked down. We were at the steps of the exit gates of the ancient temple. The entrance was more east to where we were. We also saw huge stones that were thrown over the side of the temple mount, these were great images of the destruction of the temple. The ground was sunken in where the huge stones hit when they were pushed off the high temple mount walls. After we did this we went to the burnt house museum.which was a house discovered by archaeologists with burn layers from the second temple period. The believe it was a priestly mansion. They had a really corny movie. Then a group of us walked through the city then back to the center.
