Orson Hyde
On October 24th we took time out of our busy finals week to walk over to the
Orson Hyde memorial park. On this day in 1841 Orson Hyde hiked up the Mount of
Olives and said a prayer in which dedicated and consecrated Jerusalem for the
gathering together of Judah's scattered remnants. He made an altar of stones,
then walked around the whole city then went up to the Temple Mount and made
another altar of stones. So we went to the memorial park not too far from our
Center and Jed read the dedicatory prayer. There was a group of about 15 of us.
It was cool. We then went back to the center and kept studying. It was a nice
break from studying, a nice breath of fresh air, and a nice spiritual devotion.
